Paperclay, also called fiber clay, is a mixture of normal ceramic clay and paper fibers. You can use paperclay as a normal clay to make ceramics, but it has advantages; it is stronger when dry (but not when fired), easier to use and a little lighter weight. It's good for beginners because it's a bit more malleable, and it's becoming a popular medium for experienced clay artists.
